An 18 year old boy stood in front of the door of the house. Clad in a plain navy blue suit, with white shirt and blue colour tie, his right hand was adorned with beautiful red and white roses, and the left hand clutched a card.
'Dont worry Veer, you'll be fine.'
Taking a deep breath to remove all the unwanted thoughts from his mind, he exhaled. He was about to knock at the door when he heard a loud shout from inside.
"He's the guy you chose??!!"
Veer froze on the spot.
He leaned over the door frame to hear properly. He heard someone sobbing and he immediately recognised the voice. It was her. She was crying.
He stood there, frozen, listening to the commotion inside.
"I...I'm so...sorry papa. I didn't know.... Trust m...me papa...I really did..."
"Shut up Adi!!! Just shut up!!
How can you even like him?"
His breath hitched listening to it
He heard her sobbing increase. Listening to her, didn't know when tears escaped his eyes. He just placed his hand on the door and closed his eyes remembering her face.
He couldn't understand the situation. Whatever was happening inside, was something really serious.
These questions were continuously circulating in his mind. He wasn't able to understand what was happening. Neither the situation, nor the sudden turmoil that was building inside him.
Suddenly he heard a car horn, making him turn towards the source of the sound.
He saw two cars stopping in front of her house. From the first car, four men clad in black attire stepped out. One of them ran to the other car and opened the door, as the recipient stood out.
Veer immediately recognised the person. His hand fisted looking at him.
"Yuvik.."he whispered in a deceitful tone. He carefully hid himself behind the bench of the garden, and secretly observed his actions.
Yuvik walked into the house with two of his men, whereas the other two stood outside the entrance. Veer wasn't able to understand what was happening. The two guards were not helping him find what was going on inside. He kept on finding a way to look inside but was not able to.
After a good ten minutes, he found Yuvik coming out with the other guards. He signalled all of them to follow him. They all settled in the car, and stated to depart.
Veer cautiously came out of the bench. He started slowing walking towards the car, as they slowly disappeared.
He was some meters away from the house when a loud bombing sound echoed from behind, making him fly away due to the impact of the explosion.
He turned back and saw that the house was on fire. Everything happened in a split second and due to his close proximity, his whole body became immobile.
He witnessed the most heartwrenching incident of his life with his own eyes. The love of his life, the very boon of his existence, the only hope of his life, burning before his naked eyes, and all he could do was.......to watch her die.
With all his might, and summoned strength, he tried to stand up, but all he was able to do was scream.
"Adiraaaaaaaaaaaaaa......"
